Annual military expenditure divided by total population. Calculated from SIPRI military data (MS.MIL.XPND.CD) and UN population estimates (SP.POP.TOTL), both via World Bank. Values aligned by year to ensure temporal consistency. Uses current-USD nominal values — not adjusted for inflation or purchasing power.
